IPL governor I.S Bindra has warned English players against taking drastic measures, to take part in the IPL which starts later this week.
Players who are centrally contracted by the ECB have been told by their Chief, Giles Clarke not to take part in the IPL and Bindra has supported this by stating that those players will not be in favour with the IPL: “We will not have any player revolting against their establishment and becoming part of the IPL” he said.
The comments come during a week where some England players such as Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen have stated their desire to play in the IPL.
The ECB are currently in talks with the American millionaire Allen Stanford about their own version of the IPL. However the IPL have already stated that they would allow the tournament to be brought forward a couple of weeks next year in order to not interfere with the English County season.
Do you think more English players will play in next year’s IPL?
Let us know what you think.
